To begin, rub your cat’s teeth and gums gently while you pet her.  As a bonus, give her a small treat afterward.  It will also help if you praise Fluffy and perhaps scratch her ears.  wait until she’s comfortable with this before going on to the next step.  After that, a toothbrush will be added.  You could use a finger toothbrush.  Lastly, add some toothpaste made just for cats.  

Just don’t force the issue. That could breach your pet’s trust, which will just end up causing trouble. 

Remember that you don’t have to brush Fluffy’s whole mouth at once.  Do one part at a time and keep rotating.
